We Advocate for Safer Driving but Are We Getting Results?
As the road becomes increasingly congested with distracted drivers blindly roaming, severe car accident rates continue to climb. We are seeing distracted driving fatalities make headlines far too often, which is both alarming and unsettling. This has been a growing problem in our society, and while we continue to advocate for safer driving, driving statistics are telling us a different story. Why are our advocacy efforts to promote road safety not translating to a decline in accidents? There are a few factors to discuss.Read more...

Why is distracted driving more dangerous than drunk driving?
The answer is simple, distracted driving is so dangerous because it involves all three kinds of distractions - manual, visual and cognitive - when your mind wanders from the task of driving a 3,000 pound bullet!

The Dangers of Distracted Driving
In this day and age technology has become such a huge part of our lives. It influences each and every one of us primarily for the better but that is not always the case. In this past century the use of cell phones and other handheld devices have increased significantly. Along with that so has the amount of distracted driving. In the state of New Jersey there is a handheld ban for all drivers. Novice drivers under the age of 21 are banned from cell phone usage whether it is hand held or hands free. There is a ban on texting for all drivers. These are the three primary laws that exist in New Jersey. This does not stop distracted drivers however.Read more...

JUNE 22, 2016
CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA (June 22, 2016) – As a race car driver Tom Hessert knows a thing or two about the importance of staying focused behind the wheel.
This weekend, Hessert, a five-time winner in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, will carry that message onboard his Venturini Motorsports’ backed No.25 People Against Distracted Driving (PADD®) Toyota in Sunday’s Herr’s Potato Chip 200 at Winchester Speedway.
“It’s an honor to partner with ‘People Against Distracted Driving’. If we can help educate one fan on the dangers of distracted driving and possibly save one life, we’ve done our job,” said Hessert.
”Distracted driving is quickly becoming an epidemic. With literally almost everyone connected to social media through some sort of personal electronic device it’s no wonder why distracted driving car accidents and fatalities are on the rise.”

Ten Safety Tips To Arrive Alive During The 100 Deadliest Days of Summer, From People Against Distracted Driving
1. Put the phone down. You don't need to turn it off, just be responsible and use a PADD approved cell phone app like Drivebeehive, Textstar, Drive Alive and Thumb Tied. If the app isn't approved by PADD, it's likely to have a safety issue preventing it from being a 100% life saving app. Never ride with someone who uses their cell phone while driving unless they give their phone to you so you can be the designated texter.
