PADD, Zane Smith, Musselmans Bring Distracted Driving Campaign To Salem, Indiana

Salem, Indiana (April 28, 2017) – On Friday, Venturini Motorsports (VMS) driver Zane Smith began his race weekend with a special appearance at Salem, Indiana’s City Hall. The seventeen year-old Smith is in town competing in Sunday’s ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards event at Salem Speedway.

Meeting with Salem’s Mayor along with members of the city’s Public Works department, the group discussed the importance of bringing Distracted Driving Awareness to the area in hopes of educating drivers and saving lives. Zane Smith, representing Musselman’s Apple Sauce and People Against Distracted Driving (PADD®) presented the city with street signage to serve as a community reminder to the importance of safe driving.

Mark James Piburn was hit by a distracted driver as he walked to the store in Polk County Florida on February 15, 2014. He died on the scene 30 minutes later from catastrophic injuries sustained as a result of the collision.

Mark was a remarkably intelligent and creative young man, with a contagious laughter and a courageous spirit. He was generous, gentle hearted and compassionate and brought joy to the lives of everyone who knew him.

CONCORD, N.C. (Feb. 7, 2017) – Venturini Motorsports (VMS) and Musselman’s Apple Sauce have agreed to a one-year partnership for the upcoming 2017 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season. 

Knouse Foods, Inc., based in Peach Glen, Penn., is a grower-owned producer, marketer and distributor of Musselman’s, one of the country’s leading brands of apple sauce. Celebrating over 100-years of business, Musselman’s has been winning over generations of families with their “Quality You Can Taste” products. 

In an effort to expand its ongoing motorsports presence, Musselman’s has partnered with well-known racing family, Venturini Motorsports, to broaden national presence through a strategic, multi-faceted marketing campaign with special emphasis on community involvement through a national Distracted Driving Awareness campaign.

Pioneer Career and Technology Center in Shelby Ohio Works With PADD to Prevent Distracted Driving Crashes

Seniors at Pioneer Career and Technology Center in Shelby Ohio are preparing a community event to raise awareness to the dangers of driving under the influence of cell phones. Lead by Olivia Viers, Hannah Evans and Lindsey Christini, the distracted driving awareness project began two months ago when a group of seniors realized that many of their peers were driving distracted. Searching the internet for help, they came across People Against Distracted Driving, America's Voice Of Distracted Driving Victims and Advocates (PADD). Seeing that PADD, a nationally registered 501(c)3 has been the top charity to work with high schools and colleges across the country and the only non-profit in America offering 24-7 victim support free of charge to families of distracted driving victims, they knew it was a perfect match. They realized that Nikki Kellenyi (the founder of PADD's daughter) was a senior like they are and was killed by her friend Alex, who texted her way through an intersection,
