NIKKI'S NIGHT AT HOLLEYDELL ICE RINK, SKATE2ELIMINATE DISTRACTED DRIVING. NOVEMBER 29TH, 2014

Welcome to the Skate to Eliminate Distracted Driving Challenge webpage, follow the tournament on twitter at @skate2eliminate

This tournament will be the nations first ever Hockey tournament to raise awareness to the #1 killer of teens in America, Distracted Driving (DD). PADD® wanted to do something different to raise awareness and help support those effected by DD. Since Nikki Kellenyi's favorite sport  was hockey, we figured what better way to spread our message. Although Nikki had thousands of friends, her closet friends were and still are hockey players.

We hope you will be inspired to participate in the games, or make a contribution on behalf of one of the players. All proceeds from the event will go to The Nikki Kellenyi Foundation, People Against Distracted Driving®. Each dollar raised will go directly to help PADD® educate, spread awareness and support families affected by DD and most importantly, save lives!. Please take a moment to read more about the work we do in our news stories and campaigns

This year’s Charity Challenge will be played on Saturday, November 29th, at Holleydell Ice Skating Arena in Washington Township NJ. Skaters of all ages are welcome, young and old. The tournament will have 44 players. 4 teams with 10 players and a goalie. We will be separating players by ability and age to make 4 equal teams with the winners of the first two games playing for the SKATE2ELIMINATEDD CUP! Each player will be asked to help by asking parents, friends, coworkers and businesses to sponsor them. The more people that get involved the more our message that distracted driving kills will be spread.

There will be three separate games. The first game team A will play team B, the second game team C will play team D and the third game will be the winners of the first two. The puck will drop at 5:00 PM with the second game starting at 7:15 PM and the third at 9:30 (times may be adjusted proir to the event). Players are asked to solicit pledges from family, friends, and coworkers. We'd like to see each player do their best to raise a minimum of $100 but it's not required. Sponsor forms can be downloaded HERE. The event is open to a limited number of players - please contact us at  This email address is being protected from spambots. The SKATE2ELIMINATEDD was initiated by Rob Kliniewski. It was his idea to organize a benefit hockey game to not only to raise awareness to DD but to save lives through Hockey. Rob works in the same company as Mike Kellenyi, PADD's® founder. Rob saw the need to make more people aware of the deadly consequences of DD and being an avid hockey player from Philadelphia, home of the Flyers, Rob knew this would be a great and exciting way to help end distracted driving.  We thank Rob and his friends and family for all their help and look forward to many years of the SKATE2ELIMINATEDD Challenge.
